The Coordinator ideally would have eligibility for membership with the APS and school-based experience. The position involves counselling students, working with parents and staff in the management of social and emotional difficulties, conducting relevant assessments and recommending appropriate interventions and support strategies.This is a permanent, full-time position starting as soon as possible. It is an excellent opportunity for a professional wanting to work in a school environment, coordinating a Counselling Team. The College offers opportunities for professional development, a supportive work environment and new experiences. The successful candidate will lead our small, established Counselling Team to provide advice to parents, carers, teachers and support staff, regarding students experiencing psychological, social, behavioural or emotional difficulties.Essential Selection Criteria:Post-graduate qualifications in Psychology/School Counselling;Leadership experience;Understanding of Child Protection, Disability Discrimination and Racial Vilification matters pertaining to schools;Registration with AHPRA;Expertise and experience to fulfil the responsibilities outlined above;Ability to work effectively in a team and to display ethical behaviours when working with staff, students and their families.  Experience working with or having a good understanding of the need of boys;Excellent written and communication skills;Ability to give attention to detail eg in record keeping and timely follow-up; The College has a strong Christian mission and provides a dynamic, educational experience, inspiring our Scots boys to become fine young men of integrity and principle who support each other in their quest for excellence.
