The Heart of the roleFollowing the relaunch of our centre for research and professional practice, The Scots College is looking for a prominent academic and thought-leader to work in, and co-direct, The Caledonian Institute as its operational head in conjunction with the Deputy Principal - Academics. The Institute is our bridge between research and practice. The post holder will provide strategic leadership in the development of expert communities of knowledge, practice and formation, coordinating new research projects and supporting individuals who undertake independent enquiry and study, as well as the important work of research translation into evidence-informed approaches. You will be expected to represent the College at national and international forums, maintaining your currency as a leading researcher and writer/speaker on topics which advance the College’s scholarly culture and education mission in the world. Who are you?You have a postgraduate qualification, preferably a PhD, relevant to the faith, values and mission of the College.It is likely that you are someone with a strong personal Christian commitment and alignment with College faith and values statements and an ongoing membership of a Christian community.You have excellent written communication skills having published in the area of education or integrative Christian thought and maintain an active scholarly profile.You have previous experience in a leadership position and excellent people management and development skills.You will have demonstrated a commitment to the development of ‘best practice’ strategies in all aspects of College operations.You have the ability and capacity to take a T-12 perspective in decision making.You have a strong commitment to your ongoing learning.You are a person of professional and personal integrity, being flexible and open-minded, proactive and innovative.You have highly effective interpersonal communication skills and a proven ability to speak to large audiences of staff or external stakeholders.You have a proven track record of institutional innovation.You have or can obtain a valid working with children check.
