About the positionThe Scots College is an innovative and creative teaching and learning environment for boys T-12. We pride ourselves on our quest for excellence, our faith and tradition and a culture of leadership through teams for both our students and staff. We are seeking an exceptional Gardener to join our supportive and enthusiastic Bannockburn team at the Culburra campus. The successful candidate will provide support at the highest possible standard and diligent service in the ongoing development, maintenance and production in the organic garden and orchard. They will take pride in the presentation of the organic garden and orchard environment at the College.This is a permanent part-time (0.5FTE) position ideally commencing early 2022. The position will be 5 days per fortnight. The Scots College occasionally requires employees to work after hours to finish projects or carry out facilities and maintenance tasks. The College Gardener must be able to occasionally stay back after hours to finish these tasks.Essential to this roleHold a current NSW drivers licenceHave a minimum Certificate 3 in horticulture and/or 5 years’ experience in vegetable and fruit growingAbility to drive a tractor, operate small machinery and irrigation equipmentDemonstrate commitment to the development of ‘best practice’ in all aspects of facilities and maintenance operationsBe a confident and collaborative team player and have the ability to work without direct supervisionDemonstrate professional and personal integrity both on and off site Desirable to the roleOrganic vegetable production experienceWe offer outstanding opportunities for professional development, a supportive work environment and new experiences.Further InformationThe College has a strong Christian mission and provides a dynamic educational experience, inspiring our Scots boys to become fine young men of integrity and principle who support each other in their quest for excellence.
