About the positionThe Scots College is an innovative and creative teaching and learning environment for boys T-12. We pride ourselves on our quest for excellence, our faith and tradition and a culture of leadership through teams for both our students and staff. We are seeking an Oval Greenkeeper/Groundsman to join our progressive and supportive Facilities and Maintenance Department. This is a permanent full-time position commencing end of August/start of September 2022.The successful candidate will provide day to day support and management for all College Oval and Greenkeeping requirements and will be responsible for maintaining a high quality level of oval readiness for summer and winter sports with special focus on Cricket (summer) and Rugby (winter). They will be responsible for scheduling, planning and organising all facets of Oval Greenkeeping to a high level including working with Gardeners. They will work with vendors, arrange all Oval Greenkeeper supply purchasing, upkeep of tools and manage onsite contractors.Essential to this roleMinimum certificate III in Greenkeeping or other related fieldCertificate in chemical handling/sprayingRelated Workplace Health & Safety CertificatesDemonstrate capacity and willingness to align with and support the values and mission of The Scots College in everything they do both onsite or offsite while representing the College in any wayDemonstrate capacity and willingness to comply with all College policiesProfessional and personal integrityBe flexible, open-minded, proactive and innovativeHave effective interpersonal communication skills and experience in dealing with staff/students/parents/guests on Facilities and Maintenance matters is desirableDemonstrated capacity to operate as both a leader and a team playerMust be able to work effectively in a demanding work environmentMust be able to integrate and contribute effectively with Facilities and Maintenance team membersDrivers LicenceThe College offers outstanding opportunities for professional development, a supportive work environment and new experiences.The successful applicant may at times need to be prepared to work weekends and out of hours especially on event days.Candidates must demonstrate a positive support for the Christian values of a Presbyterian GPS School.Pre-employment checksSuccessful candidates must have a current NSW Working with Children Clearance.
